About the Akron-Princeville
Fire Department
Since 1899, the Akron-Princeville Fire Department (APFD) has been committed to providing fire suppression, rescue, and emergency response services to the community.
Originally established as Princeville Fire Company No. 1, we officially became a Fire Protection District in 1945, marking a significant step in our growth and dedication to public safety.
Over the years, APFD has evolved from a traditional firefighting service into a multi-faceted emergency response team, leading the way in fire protection, rescue operations, and first response services. Our strong connection to the Akron-Princeville community drives our mission to protect lives and property with unwavering dedication.
